Re: Newbie question re residential running costs

Hi, we are in the East, so there may be some difference, but we also rent a 2 bedroomed house. We don't have gas, but in the Year we have been here, the Electricity has averaged out at 400 euros (We have Solar powered Hot Water). Broadband and Landline combined 25 euros a month. and the water charge...

Re: Licence to watch BBC I Player

Thanks for that. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Wonder if they are hoping that people are going to panic and rush to buy a licence?

Re: Licence to watch BBC I Player

Licence to watch BBC I Player

As from September 1st the BBC have said that anyone watching I player will need to have a TV licence. Are there other people on here who use a proxy server to do this, and if so, any ideas on what to do? My Proxy is up for renewal and I don't want to pay only to find out I can no longer watch BBC Ca...

Re: Proxy BBC I player

In case it is of help to anyone else. I contacted the Proxy company about this problem. They have sent me new Proxy details, as the BBC had Blocked the Original Proxy. They have also given me 10 days free because of the inconvenience. . Louise

Re: Proxy BBC I player

That is very helpful and reassuring that your VPN worked on your PC. Makes me hope that my problem is temporary. I do have a paid VPN, "Proxy Solutions" and as I said,it is working ITV player, just not BBC. . Hopefully, my Tech Guru (a 21 year old I used to work with!) is going to Skype me...

Re: Proxy BBC I player

I am totally lost with Technology, but I only have the Proxy on my laptop, and in fact access it through the firefox browser. I then choose I player through the search bar, so I may be wrong, but don't think that is an app? Thanks for your advice though. I am hoping that if I try again tomorrow it w...

Re: Filmon.com.

Dinksy, exactly the same thing happening to me, and the same time frame. I have no objection to the adverts, just the fact that I get a blank screen afterwards. No solution I'm afraid, but you are not alone in this. x

Another vote for Dimitri in Agios. He helped us find and buy our car, and scrapped our old one. x

This is how it caught me in the end. There was no way to stop the countdown. However, so far, I am coping ok. x

Re: Windows 10 automatic update from 7 or 8.1

Well, I bit the bullet and let it install. So far, so good, although I seem to have lost my Proxy Server from the Network page. I had to sign in to facebook again, but everything else seems to be working ok. My main worries was that I would have to do complicated things to get going and would get th...

Re: Windows 10 automatic update from 7 or 8.1

All your input is appreciated. It's going to upgrade overnight, so think I might try declining the conditions again. See if it works a second time.

Re: Windows 10 automatic update from 7 or 8.1

Thank you both. A couple of weeks ago I found that windows 10 had been installed. I declined to accept the terms a nd conditions and it reverted back to my original system. I had hoped that would be the end of it . :(
