Re: Latest EHIC & Reciprocal Healthcare

Greek criminal checks are done via the Justice Dept - in Chania at the courthouse (Dikastiria). KEP at the courthouse did mine when I registered a business in Greece. Other local KEP offices were not able to do it at that time (around 15 years ago) but they may be able to now.

Re: Prorogation of Parliament - Petition

Happy Sunday everyone! My one day off work this week. Just checked in to read ('check') the threads, having not been around all week to give the forum more than a cursory glance. Feeling a bit like a mother who has left the children alone to play for a few days. Let's stop all the bickering and snid...

Overseas Voters

Many of us Britons living in the EU27 are disenfranchised because of the 15 year rule, but there are also many who have lived in Europe for less than 15 years. If this is you, make sure you are registered to vote! And remember, you have to renew your registration *every year* as an overseas voter. h...

Re: Latest EHIC & Reciprocal Healthcare

So you can’t just voluntary contribute? Doesn’t seem right and someone should ask the question to an accountant. I'm pretty sure the answer is no. A friend (part time/ temporary worker/ working age) who wanted to ' top up' their IKA/EFKA to reach the threshold for (yearly) health insurance was told...

Re: Common Travel Area (UK, Ireland)

From the Evening Standard, today; https://news.yahoo.com/brexit-news-latest-free-movement-191758567.html?guccounter=1 Free movement between the UK and Ireland will not end in the event of a no-deal Brexit, No10 has confirmed. The CTA means citizens of the UK and Ireland (as in Southern) can move an...

Still passing it off as a new leak. Must think we are daft.

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

With respect Carol you have jumped in and not quite grasped what the original debate was specifically about. I have always been a bit mad. Good deflection scooby. My apologies - I jumped in with comments earlier in the thread about workers in Crete which were ' off topic' , purely because this is b...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

With respect I think people are digressing from my point. Of course if you are of the belief that UK citizens will no longer be able to LIVE in the EU no matter what the outcome of Brexit then that is your belief however wrong it is. It’s also got nothing to do with freedom of movement. I don’t dis...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

Err you are gonna have to explain that scooby ... OK Jeff, let’s say the UK leaves without a deal, do you think an EU country will stop UK citizens living there? It will no longer be a right for those who want to move to an EU country. It will be an application process subject to any number of crit...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

I didn’t comment on ‘the workers’ Carolina, as I saw that as a ‘given.’ We all know the problems involved there. I am also aware that not everyone living on Crete got a vote in the referendum. - Warwick, (amongst others), stated how he he did not have a vote.....which is why I used the word ‘many.’...

And what does this have to do with living in Crete, Carolina can we turn this thread into the new WILL OF THE PEOPLE thread please RSVP. Agreed that the OP is not about Living in Crete, Kamisiana. I have added a Crete-related comment though :) Looking at amalgamating all these general BR comments t...
