Just a thought, if you do your tax returns in Greece do you now have to do a joint one, as married couples in Greece do?

Doctors Kalives / Vamos?

I understand Dr Elizabeth in Vamos has retired?

Can anyone recommend an English speaking family doctor (oikogeniako giatro) or pathologos in the Kalives - Vamos area please. Must speak English as it is for tourists.

Also is there an English speaking ENT specialist in the area?

Thanks in advance.

Re: New Residence Permits

This is for NON EU Nationals only - the term ‘third country’ is used in the Treaties, where it means a country that is not a member of the European Union.

So, this looks like it will be our new type of Residents Permit after Brexit!

Re: Retired Britons in EU 'may be forced to return?

Yes, it's still a wait and see. Not intending to get into the ins an outs of Brexit on this thread, this was just the latest on the EU health & residency rights and where it could be going after her speech yesterday. "Theresa May has said her offer to guarantee the rights of EU citizens in ...

Well nearly 50% voted against it. While over 700,000 Brits living abroad for more than 15 years were not allowed to vote. Hardly cake and eating it.

Retired Britons in EU 'may be forced to return?

Hundreds of thousands of elderly Britons living in Europe may be forced to return to the UK unless the government guarantees that their healthcare will continue to be reimbursed by the NHS, campaigners for British people settled in Spain and France have warned. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2...

Re: First traffic "incident "

Can't believe you have had an accident already Cundalini! You need your wits about you, don;t assume that traffic coming out on the right will stop - yes the Greek highway code DOES say that on unmarked/unsigned roads traffic joining on the right has priority. Sounds like you were correct in this in...

Tax Residents & new rules

This is confusing, is there something missing here? Greek govt have announced that for 2017 only e spending (credit, debit cards, electronic transfers etc) will count towards the tax deductions /allowance .. Utility bills (electricity, water, phone etc) are now also accepted to count towards the all...

Re: Crete driving is appalling !

. I actually find it relaxing to drive here and don't get any sort of rage when things happen, opposite in the UK where I find it aggressive, and what with all the speed camera's, speed bumps, a trillion signs everywhere, bus lanes that jump out at you when you haven't had time to see if it's legal...

On a slightly different but linked issue , if you are a British Citizen but not a state pensioner , but live full time out of the UK , you now no longer have a right to NHS healthcare. .... jeff Except if you are working in another EU country and paying National Insurance there .. e.g. in Greece.
