Telephone numbers

I live in the east of Crete, but I am driving to Vamos, Chania region next week. Whilst I am there, I would like to find a particular plant for my garden, that I haven't been able to find here. As my time will be limited, it would be great if I could phone a few Garden Centres in the area beforehand...

Free roses

I didn't know which heading to put this under, but I have two roses spare. I have no room in my tiny garden for them. They are Climbing Souvenir de la Malmaison and the bush form of Souvenir de la Malmaison. http://www.google.gr/search?q=rose+souvenir+de+la+malmaison&hl=el&rlz=1C1PRFB_enGR47...

As you know, I have a very small brain. Understanding the God particle is definitely beyond my capabilities. However, the scientists don't know what it is either. They only know that there must be something else there, because of the behavior of the particles that they do know and observe. Daisy :)

Roundabouts

Jeff, I don't think many people know who should give way to who. One of my favourite pastimes, is sitting outside Angela's, gyros, cafe beside the roundabout in Sitia watching the traffic    The consensus on that particular roundabout, seems to be that those on the roundabout gi...

Rhubarb and Plastic

I forgot to say, that, when I moved here from England four years ago, I wanted to bring a number of my garden plants with me. I contacted the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food. I believe it has changed it's name now. They told me, that, apart from a small list of plants that were forbidden,...

Rhubarb and Plastic

Rhubarb is said to have come from the eastern Mediterranean. However, I think it came from China and Russia down the silk road. It seems to demand a cold period in winter, which it doesn't get here. One possible way of growing it, is to put the crown in the fridge for some weeks each winter. However...
