Re: Direct flights from the UK to Greece from 15th July confirmed.

A return flight from Gatwick to Heraklion booked ten days ago on EasyJet (Depart 19/8 - Return 28/8) would have cost you £36.99 there, and £44.99 back. In the middle of August. In the school holidays. Today, those same flights would cost you £30.99 and £56.87 respectively. Looks to me as though they...

Re: Direct flights from the UK to Greece from 15th July confirmed.

The Greek Government are now considering allowing flights from the USA from the end of this month. I hope they've all been drinking their cap-full of disinfectant every morning, as recommended by the Donald. https://www.ekathimerini.com/254677/article/ekathimerini/news/greece-to-tighten-check...

Re: Direct flights from the UK to Greece from 15th July confirmed.

Maybe Greece isn't to be deluged with British holidaymakers after all? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8509707/Droves-easyJet-customers-accusing-airline-running-SCAM.html?ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490&ito=1490 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8509559/Gatwick-eerily-quiet-...

Re: Direct flights from the UK to Greece from 15th July confirmed.

It's illogical to think that opening up Greece to foreign tourists would not result in an increase in covid cases. Hopefully the authorities will be able to contain the infection and maintain their good record in controlling the virus. However I think allowing travellers from the UK from next week m...

Re: Another fine mess!

I think others are bound to follow suit. Who forks out good money to visit a beautiful holiday location, gorgeous weather etc, only to spend a chunk of it looking out of a hotel window? Not going to happen. If this young woman survives her diagnosis, she should be jailed.

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

Ha - so it is possible to visit your second home in Greece - right now - apparently ! https://greece.greekreporter.com/2020/07/02/father-of-british-pm-breaks-rules-to-fly-to-beloved-greece/ I think you'll find, DJ, that the rules don't apply to either politicians or celebrities. Stanley probably qu...

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

Exactly, i cant imagine anybody doing that. With all the extra travelling you are risking catching it yourself. I am getting more concerned about busines and livelihoods. Walking down the high street to see which shops are open now i saw about 4 shops whited out with Closure notices on them and i d...

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

Surely they would stop uk passengers from cheating it and coming in via another country when seeing their passports?. I certainly wouldnt risk it. Yes, "Trumpland" should he banned everwhere, ..scary! It currently is possible to enter Greece via a third country if you're from a banned cou...

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

How can you say with certainty that there are no active cases around you? I applaud the effective controls that were taken by Greece - I think they surpassed all expectations! But I’m honestly anxious about visiting this year because of my perception that people have now become too relaxed. Please ...

That is exactly what I'm saying. The engineer who's doing my legalisation also does energy surveys - I know because I asked her.

Would not the engineer/surveyor/architect that did your legalisation carry out the energy survey for you? They usually do. He/she will know the way?

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

A second wave/spike of infections has been widely predicted by scientists, and I'm sure it's only a case of 'when' and not 'if' as restrictions are gradually eased both in Greece and worldwide. It remains to be seen how bad any second wave would be, and whether it would necessitate another round of ...

Re: Coronavirus. All Change.

If everybody wore a mask in all public indoor spaces the rate of infection would go down drastically. If only a few people wear them it will do very little. My point (assuming the research quoted in the article is correct) is that because we were assured from the outset by politicians who were 'fol...
