Basically I'll be using the laptop to surf, email, do some work (mainly Excel/Word). I also have to log on to my ex-work's server (I still help to keep their website updated) to do some work through that so not sure if that makes a difference. Watch the odd film. It'll be mostly stay at home with th...

I'm looking at getting a new laptop in April/May and from previous information I've received on here, I know that I should go for a minimum of 2 meg RAM with at least 120 gig hard drive. The one thing that's starting to confuse me are the various processors that are out there (Intel Core i3, Intel C...

Dreambox

Does anyone know anything about dreamboxes? We've been told that you pay a one-off cost for the box which is connected through the internet and you get access to Nova.

Is this correct or do you still need to have a dish?

Thanks

Lynn

Bar person/Waiter/Cook

My husband is currently looking for bar work for the 2010 season. He’s looking in the Malia and Stalis areas and also Sissi, or Hersonissos. He’s got 9 years experience working in the bar trade in the UK, ranging from bar person to manager. This includes cooking a lunchtime menu and making cocktails...

I assume when you're saying the E109, you mean the E106?

Skype

Does anyone know if I can set up a monthly subscription with the option of a UK phone number that rings on my Skype phone/pc when I'm in Greece? I'm trying to do a home working proposal for someone and I need an option for people being able to contact me directly but using a 'DDI' number. Thanks Lynn

To be honest with you, I wouldn't recommend coming over this year. Lots of people (even those who had worked for the same employer for years) were laid off last year and found it difficult, if not impossible, to find other work as so many others were in the same position. I know of some people who a...

Maggie The E106 is similar to the E121 in that the UK pays for health care for up to 2 years but it is supposed to be a temporary measure until you start working and are covered by the system of the country you move to. It's all linked to the amount of NI you have paid in the 2 tax years prior to re...

I've just been out to feed the peacock that lives in the estate next to us (he comes and visits 3 times a day to get some bread and seeds) and it's bitterly cold here. Thankfully no snow yet!
