Re: More Questions from the newbies

As already said, most things are gettable but at a price. Things like tea bags, baked beans, canned soups, oxo cubes, cream crackers are what I would bring over. When family come out to stay, teabags are what I ALWAYS asked for. If I pop over to the UK I always stock up on Birthday cards and other g...

Re: SEEKING BYZANTIUM DVD

Sometimes I am too hasty! I took another look and if I had cared to scroll down the first time !! I would have noticed that it is in English with Greek subtitles. So it's ordered!

SEEKING BYZANTIUM DVD

This is perhaps a long shot but I am looking for a 1997 series on DVD, narrated by John Romer. The series is called BYZANTIUM THE LOST EMPIRE. Should any of you have it and can part with it, I would be very interested in purchasing it from you. This is for a 75th Birthday present.

Re: Heating Oil

I'm rather late to this post. Crikey, it's nearly Summer! Annabana asked about using olive waste, pirina and we were put off it by our Civil Engineer, who does use it. Whilst it used to be a cheap option compared to heating oil, he says the price is about the same now. He has to lift sacks every day...

Re: More Questions from the newbies

Ditto comments on Nomad by others. They packed and moved us out here and we've used them several times since. Last year, amongst other items, they packed up and brought out a crystal glass and decanter set we'd inherited - it all arrived in perfect condition. We too had a relatively trouble free lan...

Re: IKA & Marriage

Again, very many thanks, especially for the time you have taken to give a clear reply. I'll admit to not being able to see the wood for the trees on this. My partner will, as you suggest, contact the DWP Overseas Healthcare Team and I'll keep the forum up to date.

Re: IKA & Marriage

Thank you Kilkis. I used the S1 form when I arrived to get my IKA book and which has now expired. The DWP don't seem to have a facility to help me further now that I am here. I am English by the way. We shall visit a KEP office next week to ask their advice but thank you for enlightening me with wha...

IKA & Marriage

Hello, my partner and I have lived here for 4 years. He is retired and has an IKA book. I am not of retirement age and my own book expired after the allotted two year period. Accepted that this may all change due to last year's referendum and putting that to one side for the moment, if we were to ma...

Oh that's a pity but I can understand your caution fully. For years until I finally obtained a Nectar card, I always gave my points to the person behind me.

Under General Discussion' There is a topic 'IKA Office Location' where I list documents required to obtain an IKA book - we were not asked for our Residency Certificates and it was not on the list from the IKA office. Hope that helps :)
