Re: bigblu - formerly Europasat, formerly Tooway

We bought Tooway from Bentley Walker a few years ago. Really can't fault anything about the support or the system.

Re: Draining the pool over winter or keep it going?

A pool is a delight! Wouldn't be without it. I love swimming in the sea and it's only 7 mins drive but to get to the sea you have to pack your bag, lock up, get the car out, find somewhere to park etc etc.... Having a pool means you can just strip off when your hot and jump in, maybe several times a...

Re: Driving

Try phoning the help line first. We hire from Sixt but don't fit some of the criteria. Got to speak to a very helpful Scottish man in Scotland who said we were OK. He gave his name just incase we got a different response from the airport hire desk when we arrived. He assured us a debit card was fine...

Re: EHIC card

I've lost track with the deadline day for deal or no deal. When is it please? That could really be crunch time for those of us not on a state pension and without IKAs.

NB Bins without cats are often still a mess. This is down to humans who should know better and aren't looking for food because they are starving.

Re: Skype Update

I gave up with Skype about 12 months ago after I discovered it had been taken over by Microsoft. As a Mac user I don't have a Microsoft account, shock horror! I found my contacts were still there but couldn't access all my credit without a Microsoft account. I managed to open a Microsoft account but...

"You never know maybe Greece will also kick out the Russians, Americans and anyone else who is not a member of the EU?,"

Well I doubt it as deals have been done with Russia, America and China! Not sure how they are fixed in relation to health care?

Re: Storm Clouds.

I am sure there are people on the forum who could not vote but support Brexit. I do not want to insult anyone but I sometimes get very cross about the awful uncertainty of knowing what the future holds. I have a few relatives in the UK who voted Brexit and still want to leave and relatives who voted...

Re: Storm Clouds.

There's being happy and burying your head in the sand. Oh how I wish Brexit hadn't happened! But it has and IF there ceases to be any agreement over reciprocal health care or EHIC cards and the UK starts to keep a data base on people out of the country for more than 6 months then we will have to sel...

I think you are thinking of Hi Tek. They have a very good reputation I believe. We also have Tooway from Bentley Walker, which we can't fault.

Re: Car hire in UK

The Sixt advice line is Scottish based. I asked the young man for his name and asked if I could contact him if there were any problems, his answer.. No problem, contact me on this number if there's a problem, but there won't be. Debit cards are fine apparently as long as they are for British banks a...
