Re: Amateur photographer's dream image

It's a pity this guy wasn't around with the crystal clear pictures when there was a UFO sighting isn't it?

Re: Coming to Crete to retire next year

Satcure and moggieman, thank you for the information. Such a wealth of knowledge you guys. I like the account of the driving from the UK.
Undecided which way to go, yet, but will look at all options. It's definitely going to be a one-way trip in my case.

Re: Coming to Crete to retire next year

Ah, well. Looks like I will be buying a cheap van to get me there and then scrapping it, or using the van - cutting it up to use the top and the sides, to make some sort of a storage area. I am sure I will think of something, rather than pay for a relatively expensive van just to bring all my stuff ...

Re: Coming to Crete to retire next year

Thanks for the may varied replies, guys. Firstly, the teach yourself Greek books, they seem to be just what I am looking for - Thank you. Secondly, I really am not planning to start a business, that would be the last thing I want to do again, especially in Crete anyway. I was just thinking aloud pro...

Re: film streaming

I think the best thing you can do is to go to a torrent site and download the film direct if streaming is out of the question for you. I know that most films are available to watch on YouTube.. If you need any more information, please let me know.

Re: Coming to Crete to retire next year

Thanks, Mixos. Yes we have done the grand tour. The first time we went by bus from Malia to Ag Nik (Ayios Nikolaos in Cyprus) and other places around there. We didn't get to see everything of course, but I saw much of the interior by Quad bike. (My partner was not into quad bikes, so I went alone an...

Re: Coming to Crete to retire next year

Like I said previously, Kilkis, I am open to bartering if that is all there is around. I will have enough to survive quite nicely without having to earn money working, just that I can be of help, should anyone require it. If I really want to earn money, I would think about doing something that very ...

Re: Coming to Crete to retire next year

Thanks for some of the comments, but let me assure you, I will not be actively looking for work, I know what is and what isn't allowed, especially as an electrician, of course I will not be trying to get into the job market, rather just that I have services I can offer to anyone who needs them. I pl...

Coming to Crete to retire next year

Good morning everyone. Having visited Crete three times in the last three years, (Rethymnon, Chania and Malia) we have decided we are going to settle down in Crete instead of freezing to death in the Netherlands. I see there has been some inclement weather over the winter, but it is not the norm, so...
