Re: FULL Lockdown Monday 6a.m. in Greece

On question 3, it is my understanding that you need another form, but how this works with the SMS isn't clear.

Re: FULL Lockdown Monday 6a.m. in Greece

I gather it only works from Greek mobiles. If you are using a UK one you will need one of the paper options.

Re: CoronaVirus now confirmed on Crete

Unnecessary. If you don't like what Kilkis or anyone else posts, don't read it - in the immortal phrase, scroll on by. Some of us are interested in the minutiae of this situation, some are not. Some of us are scared witless, some are not. Please be kind - no-one needs any more negativity; there is q...

Re: EOPYY Prescriptions

Our doctor is "private" as far as I know, but we get the discounted rate via our S1 forms. Ditto cardiologist, who is definitely private. Forms generated via the system, printed out and signed and stamped by the doctor. No receptionists around here! Yes, we've had handwritten prescriptions...

Re: EOPYY Prescriptions

We have a good doctor, thanks, Warwick, and know that if we get there early we can be seen without encountering too many other people in the waiting room! I suppose that one day online prescription ordering will be possible here, but I'm not holding my breath.

Re: Phishing

We've had several to our landline lately; some "originating" in the Netherlands, some in Germany, some in Greece. All cut off, apart from the last one which purported to be doing some sort of EU survey!

Re: Kalyves Post Office

This appears to be a wider ELTA problem. The PO in Sitia is understaffed as well, and one (at least) of the village posties has retired and not been replaced. We have a box in the nearest village and often go more than a week without post, then get a wodge of it all in one go. There used to be a dai...

Re: The name of this forum is? Living in Crete!

I suggest that the people on here that say Brexit won't impact lives and we should get over it and move on should have a look at the British in Greece Facebook page ..trying telling the many people from full time residents, part timers or those living in boats in marinas and travel the med and havi...

I appreciate all you do Carolina. I used to be a moderator on a forum (like you, unpaid) and I appreciate the task before you. Thank you for providing a platform where we can learn, discuss and provide information to fellow members. Quite agree - thanks from me as well, particularly for putting up ...

Re: New Coronavirus

A final twist to the story. Photographs taken of the front of the coaches during the journey clearly show an accompanying medic in the front passenger seat wearing a full biological hazard suit and the driver wearing a high viz jacket. Who knew that high viz jackets provided protection against cont...

Re: IKA Renewal

I would find it very hard to spend 100 euros in the Lidl we have in Sitia.. I can never find anything I want to buy or eat it all looks a bit grim and not very appetising. I go there sometimes and walk around with an empty trolly ,pick up a pack of cheap drill bits and a bunch of bananas ..and then...

Re: Withdrawal Agreement and Our Rights

When receiving a state pension it is now clear both on the annual uprating of pension and provision of healthcare through the S1 that things will continue for those resident before end of transition period. However what is less clear are rights of those resident before the end of the transition per...
