Greek keyboards

Would someone who is used to typing in Greek please explain how to get the tonos mark above the letter, rather than before or after! I have a Greek keyboard, and have installed the Greek language option, so all the letters work normally - just can't get the stresses in the right place! I've been tol...

Re: Internet connection problems

Looks like the adsl internet access is playing up again this morning. Certainly it is in my area. This could be just a Forthnet problem. My username and password are ok as proved by the fact I am on now (dial up) but the router diagnostics are showing a failure with authentication with my ISP. This...

About 10km south of Rethymno and our internet ceased around 1pm, returning sometime between 4pm and 5pm. ADSL helpline (1242) advised same as above - "ADSL for the whole of Crete is down". Paul Really helpful to know this - have been trying to install a new ADSL modem, after the previous ...

Thanks - that's what I've put in, and I'm getting nowhere with it. I've tried on my laptop as well, which I previously hadn't set up for OE, and got the same problem.....strange.

Problems with forthnet connection

I'm just trying to set up a new pc, having had the old one "fried" by last weekend's storms, despite surge protection. Using Outlook Express - cannot get the smtp server suggested by the forthnet website to work. Incoming mail is fine.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Fantastic. It's great here in the East isn't it? Same thing happened to us,we went to OTE for the phone connection and they said maybe a week, but the guys arrived the next morning. We got ours within a couple of weeks, too - not only that, but the man installing the poles (we live in the middle of...

Our dentist in Sitia does all the hygenist type stuff himself, too - similar prices. We're both delighted to have found him - both for price and the quality of care, which is as good as, if not better than we had in the UK.

Thanks for all the helpful ideas on this - yes, the IP address will be the same, as neither of us mess around changing things like that, and we're both set to log in automatically all the time - pretty sure there haven't been any instances of either of us suddenly not being logged in - unlike the pl...

No, we have completely separate log ins (logs in?)! That's why I'm puzzled.

I'm puzzled. Why, when I know I haven't caught up with a particular topic, does the board icon show that it has been read? Is it because the other person who uses this computer has done so, even though he logs in separately, with different settings. I'm sure this used not to be the case, but maybe t...

One of the things we love about our part of Crete is the lack of snow! We are both haters of the cold and are delighted that this part of the winter doesn't last for long - the north wind in the Sitia area today has been pretty grim, but we know it won't be long before the sun shines. Conditions in ...

Oops, Sorry Paul - didn't realise that we had to cater to the idiots in other places. I thought this site was for useful things as well! We do have lives -up to our armpits in olives at the moment, so this must be brief!
