Re: Cigarette smoke issue

... Then I gave up smoking 11 years ago and, wow, I immediately hated the smell and effect of smoking. ... After about six failed attempts per year I quit smoking (from 40+ daily) 31years ago. The first three days were horrendous but day four it was like turning off a tap and I haven't smoked since...

Re: Cigarette smoke issue

It seems to me that in most tavernas, winter and summer, the smoking area is wherever smokers happen to be sitting. Many tavernas and cafés still put ashtrays on all tables but if there is an absence thereof staff will provide one if asked.

Re: Life Certificate

From the leaflet accompanying the Life Certificate. Who can sign the Life Certificate? The person who signs the Life Certificate should not be related to you by birth or marriage, not live at the same address as you and should be a professional person or a person of good standing in the community. E...

Re: Driving Licences

It appears to be a genuine site for a driving school. It does have some Facebook tracking cookies so perhaps your anti-malware objects to them? Warwick I don't think it's the anti-malware but my system is set to block tracking cookies generally but I can specify selected sites to be allowed. There'...

Yes and a thoroughly good read - entertaining and, in my case, educational about the history of that period.

When that server message pops up I find that just refreshing the error page usually solves the problem and the post appears. It's also quicker than going back a page and submitting again.

My anti-malware software doesn't want me to view that site. It just blocks it unless I take positive action to allow access. I prefer to play safe.

This is our 17th winter in Crete without TV and have never missed it and never thought one essential. It's possible to find plenty to do here at any time. ;-)

Re: Sandblasting

Depending on the cost of sand blasting and professional spray painting my back-up plan would be to check the cost of new tables as they don't cost even a small fortune. Many of the vehicle repair paint shops have facilities to bake the paint finish and probably have pretty good knowledge about deali...

Re: To have a TV or not?

We never had TV in any accommodation when we were on holiday here. When we moved here permanently we decided not to have TV* and have survived without it for almost 17 years. We have never missed it. Also, in 2004 we built a holiday apartment alongside our house and did not provide TV (or Internet c...
