Another really cool thing to do with raki, in a glass bottle with a screw top put 5 or 6

Yes, good soil, compost , manure and organic matter, oh and wind fencing will improve things ,but a raised bed will help with drainage and that is the last thing you need.Do you have a local guy with a JCB who can scrape you out a plot and then back blade it before you import top soil? Dave I had a go with the seaweed thing ; got maybe a ton of it , it was was good at holding the water in the soil but it took ages to rot down in fact I still find odd bits of seaweed in the ground 4 years later unrotted.... jeff ...

I nail together 6 pallets in a oblong shape and line it with plastic the bottom as well... put in the stuff, starting in November ( see my other post) through to the new year, and leave it alone till the next spring planting season. Sounds like you need to get some organic matter to rotivated in to the soil, We use goat and sheep manure ,and compost made from the left over strafela from the Raki still and the straw and chicken dropings from the henhouse and leaves from the olive oil press ,after a year this is a rich dark compo...
