Re: UK Transition Letter

I posted this because I have a question.
Is it saying that I MUST apply for a UK EHIC now? I thought that I could apply for a Greek EHIC and that it was illegal for me, as a permanent resident, to apply for a UK card.

Your ignorance of events to come is your choice. But when Trump is inaugurated for four more years, I'll be happy to answer questions. (You might have to contact me direct because I don't frequent this forum.)

Re: Local Suppliers

PS For something like Isopropyl Alcohol I think I would have gone totally local, phoned my local pharmacy, asked them to get whatever I needed and then picked it up when they had it. That was my first port of call. They begrudgingly agreed to sell me 100cc. I always try to buy locally but sometimes...

American Election

Those who are following the US "election" might be somewhat confused.
This podcast explains a lot:

Local Suppliers

If the current situation continues, Amazon and other huge businesses will consolidate their monopoly and there won't be any small businesses. So you might like to support small and preferably local businesses whenever possible. This site https://www.bestprice.gr ...provides links to Greek suppliers ...

Something else I noticed: For a week or more, my little Nokia has displayed a symbol: O_O and about every half hour the phone would give two beeps with a delay of about 30 seconds between. I disabled the beep by setting "Warnings" OFF in the Settings menu. I assumed that the O_O symbol was...

Re: Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

Our small, local supermarket delivers on request. We recently had a new solar heating system delivered and installed (had to hire a γερανός to lift the stuff onto the roof), as well as a pergola and stone wall built. No problem in getting tradesmen near Vamos. None of them wore a mask - but I don't ...

Re: Do they speak proper Greek?

Everybody must have experienced the situation where you say something and the person you are talking to looks at you quizzically for a short time and then recognition dawns and they repeat the sentence back to you. Oh, yes. Even before the dreaded Koronoios came along, I was struggling to say "...

I have 2 x 200AH, 6 volt, deep discharge batteries powering a 1500 Watt inverter* (actually, it's only good for about 500 Watts before it shuts down). So that's my "UPS". Charged by two photovoltaic panels when the sun shines and a 14v 40A power supply when it doesn't. * The latest inverte...

Re: UK Virgin Sim

I have a vodafon SIM and a Virgin SIM in a Nokia. This discussion prompted me to check and I, too, have no signal for Virgin from Cosmote. The signal was always weak indoors but now it's zero. On logging in to my Virgin account, I note that I last topped up on November 26th and my remaining balance ...
