I'm waiting for it to be released as a PDF file. I don't buy printed books any more. In fact I'm trying to reduce my "library" for when we move.

Hi Martin, thank you. Just downloaded iStumbler, how brilliant is that although not entirely sure whats it's showing me yet! There are two SSID's on the same channel, one was used with my old sagem router and the other is the one set up a few days ago for the BaudTec, should I move one of them, can...

People have been warning me about the advent of Mac viruses since I first went on-line in 1995. After 13 years I'm still waiting to see one. I estimate the risk of "infection" as comparable with that of the sea level rising one metre due to global warming. It ain't gonna happen in my lifet...

Thanks, you brightened my day

Thanks guys. I read posts like this and it makes me so grateful that my younger brother introduced me to Apple Macs back in 1987. Never had a virus. Never had an antivirus. Had very few problems in 21 years that actually interrupted my work. How boring.

I use Macs and I've set up plenty of routers. I had the same problem as you and, using "iStumbler", tracked down the cause to a neighbour who had presumably just got a router and was using it on the default channel frequency, same as me. I changed my channel and the problem went away. Othe...

One thing to watch on DC supplies is the polarity. Many years ago, by accident, I connected a printer power supply to an Apple Mac laptop. The little plug fitted but the polarity was reversed. The internal fuse blew in the laptop. Luckily no damage occurred but the surface-mount fuse was a pain to r...

I think girls should be forced to sign in with girlie-sounding names. That way, we blokes wouldn't be surprised by a girl who can actually type meaningful and grammatically correct English. It would also allow us to dumb-down our replies so that e v e n . a . b l o n d e . c o u l d . u n d e r s t ...

I tap the keys, gently, with my arthritic fingers. They seem to be losing weight.

If you are using earthquakes as a yardstick, the people of Greece must have been very naughty indeed!

Thanks, Eleni. We are coming to Vamos in October. Will mosquitos still be around at that time of year? (I'm assuming "yes", since it's usually still quite warm in early October). As I am in the UK, if anyone wants stuff such as "Anthisan" posting to Crete, I'm happy to oblige. I ...

I got horribly bitten on one visit to Crete. The pharmacist gave me Germolene (waste of time). The most effective after-bite ointment is Anthisan, which I brought from the UK (but had to wait for 3 days because the airline sent our suitcases to Tenerife).

He has been recommended many times.

I am using my genuine name here (but not on bic!) and I have registered only vonce.

Paul, as "Admin", you can click on the little "IP" button and see the duplications. I think it's nice of you to ask for opinions but you should take whatever action you see fit.
