Re: Greek Driving Licence

...We're both 68 and our recently acquired Greek licences expire on the eve of our 70th birthdays, in late 2020. There's probably a system in there somewhere ;) Very odd. The requirement to renew a Greek licence starts at 65 and is then needed every 3 years. This implies a renewal at 68 and then 71...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

Just checked our licences. My licence, application made at age 59, is valid from the day I made the application to KEP, i.e. 25.2.19 and it expires on 24.9.24, the eve of my 65th Birthday. Andrew's licence similarly is valid from the 25.2.19 and expires on the 10.7.22, i.e. three years to the day o...

Re: Rugby World Cup on TV

Ah, we can get that through the FilmOn internet service. They claim to be legal, and that's good enough for us ;)

Green card car insurance.

We're making outline plans to leave Greece should hard Brexit come to pass. This would involve MrsB heading off to Blighty ahead of me while I drive back a little later, which means motor insurance for driving in other countries. The internet seems to be telling me different things - that 3rd party ...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

I'm not sure how submitting an E1 two days before the extended deadline can be described as " too legal ". Three days later and it would be illegal and subject to a fine. I submitted mine before the original deadline at the end of June. My first stage payment of 3 will go out today, 30 Ju...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

It is not useless. It is an official certification that you have applied to renew your licence and have submitted all the necessary documentation. The table, which takes up most of the document, is a list of what you have submitted. Unless it has changed in the last few years it reads: 1.Applicatio...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

KEP have been faffing with my UK to Greek licence transfer for so long now I'm beginning to worry. At the moment all I have is a (possibly useless) KEP document with a photocopy of my old UK licence attached. Replacing the UK licence requires UK residency. Apart from plain lying about where I've bee...

Re: Fantasy Premier League

Will do :)

I have a team, Dross Utd, in a league involving some UK friends. What's your team called, as I might see you in the Greek standings.

Might call the new team Dross 2nd XI

eta: eek - can I actually have 2 teams in different leagues? Suspect not.

Re: IKA and AMKA

The big worry in this household of two S1 pensioners is just how much notice we might get of any loss of IKA rights. Loss of IKA is terminal for us. We try to sell up and go back to the UK. If that loss is established at end of Oct and means our IKA won't be renewed next March then at least we have ...

We use the same method as Warwick - payments into NatWest then transfers when we need them. Haven't had a problem with accountants or the tax office in 11 years.

Re: purchasiing a home that requires renovations

The 'adeia' is a licence, or planning consent as it were. My understanding of the matter: a small adeia is cheaper and easier to obtain, but only covers renovation of existing structures. This sounds like what you need, but take care - if you extend in any way (including creating certain covered are...

Re: The Will of the People

These are questions I was going to ask too. I emailed our old council today and they informed me that postal ballots had just gone out from the printers. For previous postal votes we have always re-registered although the wording of the application suggests that once registered you automatically get...
