Yes Warwick I agree about insurance within the EU, though if something 'serious' happened and you had to be flown home it would be a tad expensive. However the Greek insurance market is virtually non-existent. When I went to Australia last year I tried the Greek companies for travel insurance. I was...

No Martin we cannot afford it!

In my village 95 octane was € 1.32 but it seems more expensive in Chania with prices ranging between € 1.34 and € 1.39, but prices do change.

Sorry I don't know about LPG

Hi Paul Yesterday after two or three one second "off and ons" the power went off and came back at I guess about 100 volts, it then fell to 68 volts (measured) before creeping up to 115 volts (measured). It stayed at this until later in the day when it went off completely. When it came back...

This is a post for Topdriller I want to agree wholeheartedly with one of your comments, query another and disagree wholeheartedly with a third, pretty balanced eh? I too believe that the Community Charge (Poll Tax) is by far the fairest means of local taxation, the only amendment it needed was to ma...

Lynn

Just to cheer you up, from the information you have given here I don't think you will reach state retirement age until you are 67.

Keep working!

Hi Julie Also be aware that if you intend taking your car outside of Greece, into the rest of the EU for instance, then most Greek insurance companies will only prove Third Party cover for this. If this is important to you, and to many people it is not, then ensure that you ask the question, "A...

This is what the BBC say if you try and watch Can I download programmes from outside the UK? The BBC uses Geo-IP technology to identify where your are based on the location of your internet service provider (ISP). This ensures that only internet users in the UK can enjoy programmes on BBC iPlayer. I...

Hi Paul I may be wrong but I don't think Tom Tom provide maps for Greece. Their map range for Europe is Western Europe, Central Europe and Eastern Europe. Greece is not included in any of these maps! I emailed them pointing out how Greece was at the 'centre of Europe' EU, Eurozone, etc. Indeed I eve...
