Re: The Will of the People

Infacts.org Remain/ Pro EU propaganda machine set up early 2016. Infacts.org is pro remain, hence the name. Thank God (or the authors) for presenting that side of the argument. So Kamisiana, critically disect the content or are you just sneering because it wasn't written by Leave EU or some other d...

Re: The Will of the People

In the interest of being balanced it should be pointed out that the Infacts.org web site is just a teensie weensie bit biased towards remain? The basic facts about the trade deals are correct, as far as I can see, but some of the other information might have suffered a little from cherry picking. A...

Post brexit, will tariffs make the export of beef and lamb uneconomic anyway? They've only lifted the ban not signed a trade agreement have they?

Re: The Will of the People

Somewhat jaw-dropping article from the BBC. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-48871710 UK lamb farmer explaining he voted leave, but he's just in the last few weeks realised it means the price he must charge to EU customers for a single lamb will rise from 100 GBP to 140 GBP, and that this will s...

Re: The Will of the People

I will have your wine for you then Warwick! - Thanks. Heaven help us if we become like Hungary Guy. Sadly we are already becoming the laughing stock of Europe. We arrived back to the U.K. last week for July and August. We spent three week’s driving out to Kriti in March, then two weeks driving home...

Re: The Will of the People

I think we'll be effectively reintroducing the Corn Laws, repealed in 1846. By accident.

We can all become Chartists then.

Still, will make JRM happy as the Right Hon Member for the 19th century.

Re: The Will of the People

Hammond is a remainer and was wrong with his scare tactics in 2016. I am not saying there won’t be a hit, but how does he come to 90 billion, has he said? or is he plucking figures out of the air again. He is Chancellor of the Exchequer, they are the government's figures. What did he get wrong in 2...

Re: The Will of the People

I think Philip Hammond nicely put to bed the notion that there will be any money for longer term spending or tax cuts in the case of a disruptive no deal exit. Once his £27b pound 'headroom' is gone that's it. He talks about a hit to the economy of £90b which will have to be factored in to future de...

Re: The Will of the People

...Given that if we crash out with no deal, it would be likely that these would be subject to import duty as a result under new tariff arrangements. How mad does it all sound? I'm not sure about that Phil? The UK government has already notified WTO of what tariffs it intends to charge on the whole ...
