Re: Coronavirus, what happens next

I didn't see anybody else wearing one apart from the supermarket staff who have all been wearing them since day one. Shop staff must wear masks. The law is very clear on that. I am still waiting to find out if customers in supermarkets are legally required to do so. You're right Yin&Yang we'll ...

Re: Coronavirus, what happens next

I visited Kalyves this morning, face mask and gloves donned, and was disappointed to see so many people, perhaps 75% of them, wearing no face mask amongst other people, nor inside whilst shopping! I fear it won’t be long before we are locked down again. There have been no Covid-19 cases in Crete fo...

Re: Allergy/Pollen Count

Must say I haven't noticed avocado replacing olives. Some year ago Stelios, the then Mayor of Argiroupolis (aka Lappa) convinced some of the locals to plant avocado, but the word is that Israel got in just ahead and 'collared the market'. Don't know if it's the same situation now but apart from Ste...

Re: Allergy/Pollen Count

Secondly, is it possible to get a general allergy test at a doctors or would you need to go somewhere else for such a thing?

Go to an allergist. I don't know where you live but there is a good one in Chania.

Re: Coronavirus, what happens next

The wearing of face masks in enclosed and busy places will be compulsory from Monday, 4th May That's been said officially? Enclosed is pretty straightforward but what defines busy? What are the penalties for not doing so? Sorry, I am not quibbling with your reply but I am trying to get official and...

Re: Coronavirus, what happens next

As masks are now compulsory, (as/when lockdown measures ease),in ‘indoor public places’

Are masks now compulsory? And if so where and under which circumstances?
And if they are compulsory can you now buy them? Or are they still in short supply?

Re: Praise for the Greek government

To be fair, that's probably the case in most countries. Andrew Yes, certainly compared to the UK but many countries do far more testing (per inhabitant) than Greece. But considering that Greece seems to have a very good handle on the crisis spending a lot of resources on testing might not be a prio...

Re: Praise for the Greek government

I'm not saying there's a cover-up of some sort. I just don't think the system is picking up the real numbers.

Remember that the level of testing is quite low in Greece which means that mild cases will generally go undiscovered and unreported.
