Re: moving to crete after Brexit?

No-one has a clue as to what will happen after March 29th, not even the British government.

Re: The Will of the People

After the hoops we had to jump through to open and maintain a Greek bank account and the problems with opening an interest-bearing UK one when you live here, I imagine opening a German account to look after my few euro would be well nigh impossible. So I will have to carry on living in my little Cre...

I wouldn't bother with that website, unless you want to pay between €3700 and €24,500 per week!

We no longer have to queue for hours at the bank or post office - at least until everyone finds out that this service is available! I paid ours from this very laptop. Why is it neces...

Re: Why Brexit is Right

When Caroline set up this forum she asked "Please keep it CIVIL and ON TOPIC regarding updates/ news / concerns on British living / travelling in the EU." I suggest that if you can't do that, BarryfromWatford, we might be better off without you here.

Re: How to become a greek resident

The IKA office at Agios Nikolaos didn't need a translation. It was all perfectly straightforward. We gave them the form along with the usual passport copies etc. They also wanted proof that our tax affairs were in order.

Re: Airbnb

Another aspect of the Airbnb thing - when people stay in self catering accommodation, they often just use it as a base and generally go out and use the local bars and restaurants. With Airbnb and the like, they are renting places with fully equipped kitchens, TVs, Netflixs, sofas etc. They have no n...

Re: Transporting my Dog back to the uk!

Popi and Yiannis are the vets in Agios Nikolaos who dealt with my dog's passport, vaccinations etc. when we travelled around Europe. They are very conscientious with the paperwork. Telephone 2841 100303

Re: IKA Renewal Heads Up

Can anyone advise the procedure when one has IKA health cover through the S1 form, but has worked for a few hours a week last season (for the first time ever in Greece), paying the appropriate IKA contributions? Any additional paperwork that is required, declaration from accountant etc?
