I never met Paul ...... I’ve never seen a photo of him, or spoken to him on the phone and yet, he had a little space in my life – a space which is now empty. How much more so for those who knew him well. My deepest sympathy goes out to his friends and family at this terrible time. Katharine. Thank ...

I know exactly how you feel. We came out here nearly two years ago. We couldn't sell the house so we rented it out. We haven't regretted a minute. If we have to return to the UK in the future, at least we can say we gave it a try! Not that we're intending returning!

Perhaps we are living in a fool's paradise, but we have not noticed any real difference in our life from when we arrived here nearly 2 years ago. We buy fruit and vegetables from the local market, meat from the local butcher and toilet rolls etc.from Lidl. We drink in local bars, not tourist bars, w...

When I ordered a book from Amazon UK, it was invoiced and sent to Crete by Amazon Athens. I assumed that this was why I was charged VAT at 19%.

Sorry, should have mentioned - all we needed for the car insurance was the new registration document and a driving licence; this was for 3rd party F & T, and anyone can drive providing they have a driving licence.

A lot depends on where you are buying the car from. We bought our car from a hire company that we had used for a few years, so we only needed our passport and tax number. He filled in all the forms, arranged for his father to go with us to get the car registered to us and even arranged the insurance.

As one of the enquiries mentioned in this post, we have just made our move to Crete and would like to thank Paul for getting our possessions here. He was great to deal with and kept to our agreed timetable, keeping us informed at all times as to his progress. I would recommend him to others thinking...
