Here is another article that may interest some of you. They are John Coleman, the meteorologist's comments to the San Diego Chamber of Commerce. It sums up the situation very well indeed. http://www.kusi.com/weather/colemanscorner/19842304.html Ray This is simply a meaningless rant. It contains not...

In this case Dipl.-Ing. Heinz Thieme conveniently forgot to tell you that the gas equation doesn't tell you anything about cause and effect. He uses the example that if you increase the pressure then the temperature will increase. While this is true it is also equally true that if you increase the ...

From experience on all fora, Paul, there are a few people out there who acknowledge when you have helped them but the vast majority do not. Don't hold your breath waiting.

Re: travel insurance

I for one am not "obsessive" re insurance but am currently more than aware that the E111 does not cover you for every eventuality even within Europe and thats fine if you are prepared to take some sort of risk but ;as some of my recent guests visiting have discovered ;that is a huge risk ...

http://www.worldwideinsure.com/ would have covered you for Australia even if you live in Greece. Their medical/repatriation cover is either £5 million or £10 million depending which policy you take out. Their only possible slight snag is that if you need repatriation it is to the country where you a...

Whenever the name Branston crops up I cannot get out of my mind a picture of somebody with their finger half way up their nose and the tune "Bring out the Branston" playing in the background. Can't remember which comedy show did it. Sorry to mention it. Warwick PS Knowing your Scottish con...

I've noticed that people in the real world (as opposed to on a forum) have been getting very tetchy over the last 24 hours - has this carried over to here? Something's in the air - don't know what it is - but nearly everyone I've spoken to today had said that they feel irritable. Life's too short t...

I have two UK bank accounts. One allows me to send virtually any amount on the basis of a telephone call. I simply ring their International Division. The other only allows me to send a small amount by telephone. Otherwise you have to go into "your local branch" tee hee. The one that allows...

Some people prefer to transfer chunks of cash in pounds to a sterling account and then change it to Euro when the rate is advantageous. Generally you get a better exchange rate from Greek banks than you do from UK ones. You can transfer directly from a UK bank to a Greek Euro account and specify tha...

Without looking it up I am fairly sure that there is a direct correlation between sun spot activity and the global temperature. Even as far as for sun spot activity to decrease since the mid 90's as has the increase in global temperatures If you go to http://science.msfc.nasa.gov/ssl/pad/solar/imag...

...Carbon is not the cause, if there is warming it correlates to solar activity ... And you have evidence? There is very accurate measurements of solar emissions for over 50 years and less accurate evidence before that. There is no evidence at all of any trend that would account for warming. There ...

I agree, Paul. When I upgraded in Kilkis I simply had to wait a few days, after OTE had done all the hardware stuff, for OTENET to upgrade the Internet service. After that the old user name and password worked. Just thought the other information might be useful to people signing up for the first tim...

There is a bit of information missing from the stuff OTE give you that doesn't seem to be documented anywhere. As Paul said, when you get your equipment there is some paperwork with it containing a customer ID and a password. The first thing you have to do is go to OTENE's web site site, log on with...
