Perhaps I put it badly, Jean. I did say that if the camera produces a picture at 300dpi changing it to 96 dpi will make a big difference to the file size. Where I maybe confused was by carrying straight on to image size in the way I did. My chosen default camera settings produce an image 1600 x 1200...

The most important thing is to make the file size as small as possible. If the recipient wishes to view them on screen rather than print them you should reduce the resolution to 96dpi which is the same as a typical monitor. Depending on your camera settings most pictures will probably come out at ab...

you seem to know the precise time of the robbery Widely reported in the press, Officer. you also have photographs of the crime taking place, No! No! No! Only the aftermath. even I can work out "who did it". If I'd planned/executed the raid there'd have been a lot more cash up for grabs. F...

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software? I always update to the current version when it's available and have never had any problems with Skype. Have you installed any other new software recently that might be conflicting with Skype? Filippos. PS I just put voip software into Google and...

My explanation was accepted. I.e. If I'd wanted to stop the front of the bank being blocked by other parked cars I wouldn't have moved ours an hour and a half before the event.

I think you must be right. With B of Cyprus we walked in with a sterling cheque and it took all of 10 minutes to open a £££ account.

It's also worth investigating transferring in Sterling and doing the exchange here. In my experience the banks here have always given better rates than UK banks. Some of our visitors here recently found the best rate at Bank of Greece ( not The National B o G) which beat allcomers. Our account is wi...

You'll also be able to keep it legally for six months, and then it could still be months or years before the police stop you and impound it. Don't know though if there could be any other repercussions, like a fine I know of a couple of cases where a fine topped €4k. This may have been because no an...

A friend of ours lives quite close to the bank and not far from a local night club. Also, he manages some tourist apartments next to his home. Frequently, people leaving the nightclub make a lot of noise and even indulge in racing their cars and motorbikes along the beach road, disturbing the touris...

Then I found these which reminded me that the thieves failed to get the ATM in Kalyves but nicked the safe instead. http://creteforyou.com/pics/karnavali_bank_1.jpg http://creteforyou.com/pics/karnavali_bank_2.jpg Every witness shown here reported, "Didn't see nuffink, Officer."

Thanks for the warning, Dave; that's often the sort of stuff I cart about. It seems they're tightening up on all sorts of things. Certainly two, and I think all three of the beach cantinas, in Kalyves were heavily fined last week - €2k - €3k each for having tables & chairs on the beach and servi...
