Re: sourdough bread

I'm rarely in that area but I recently bought a few small items from Jysk and was surprised to see that the car wash had morphed into a café/bakery/cake shop. I didn't go in so I had no idea what they sell. At least it is somewhere pleasant to sit when I go to renew my healthcover in February if the...

Re: Cosmote WIFI Fon

Open this web page in Chrome John and it gives you an explanation. Basically if you sign up your Cosmote Double Play router becomes a WiFi hotspot for all other Cosmote Double Play customers who have signed up and happen to be stood near your house. In turn all their routers become WiFi hotspots for...

Re: sourdough bread

In case it makes it easier to find, Ray, I think it is on the corner of the road that runs down the side of the EFKA building, previously IKA, about 500m after IKEA.

I do not understand why a UK registered Mobile is required for OTP's My UK Bank is NatWest and they happily send OTP's to my Greek Registered Mobile, also have called me a couple of times, at my request, on my Mobile. Who can fathom the mysteries of banking. Lloyds have my Greek mobile and landline...

...I am sick to death of Virgin... I agree. I stuck with Virgin for a long time because it was one of the few companies that would keep the SIM active even if you didn't top up regularly or even use it for long periods. I never experienced a problem with not using it in the UK even for over 1 year....

Re: Single trip travel insurance

I'm not sure what you mean by "getting travel dates beyond the end of the year", Bob? I'm using Firefox. When I put Greece as my country of residence it transferred me from Maggie's link to https://www.globelink.eu. I chose a single trip and it allowed me to select dates going well beyond ...

Re: Booster COVID Vaccination

Each country has its own protocols decided by their own medical regulator and their own government. The doctors are simply following the protocol in that country, not just doing whatever they feel like. For example the UK government, acting on the advice of JCVI, decided to leave a 12 week gap betwe...

Re: Booster COVID Vaccination

For those people planning to have a booster can I remind them that you cannot have the vaccination until 14 days after a flu jab. I don't know if it applies if you have booster first. Bob Yes, it works both ways. When I went for my COVID booster the doctor asked me if I had had a recent flu vaccina...

As from Monday 22 November, if it is more than 7 months since you had your second vaccine dose you will only be classed as "fully vaccinated" if you have had your booster vaccination, i.e. your vaccination certificate with 2 doses expires at 7 months. See KTG and ekathimerini . They have a...

It sounds good if you want to make a lot of phone calls to the UK. Personally I need a UK number for two reasons: 1 to make phone calls when I am in the UK, i.e. about 4 weeks per year, and 2 to receive OTPs from my UK bank. For long phone calls to family in the UK I prefer to use Skype which is fre...

I base my comments on what I pay not on what people in Athens pay, which is what dominates official statistics. What other people pay is of no relevance to me.

Re: Wow Price of Electricity going through the roof , special charges !

And last year was abnormally cheap? I am not sure you can use the terms normal and abnormal when it comes to the price of heating oil. Obviously it is influenced by the international price of crude oil and that in turn is influenced by many factors. It is also influenced by government taxation deci...

Re: Annual car fees by cc

It isn't open for payment of 2022 fees yet. It should open in a week or so. If you look on this web page and click on the down arrow in the right hand box you can see which years are available. So far it only goes up to 2021. Keep checking that from time to time to see when 2022 appears and then it ...
