So it would point to perhaps one of the video card settings being out of kilter That was my initial thought! A graphic card set up for two monitors with only one monitor attached. But it sounded too simple and obvious. Still, got to your display properties and make sure that only one monitor is ena...

If it started yesterday why don't you use the Restore function (assuming that you are running XP or Vista).

Sounds like you might have caught a nasty and running Restore might get rids of the problem.

Have you tried uninstalling / reinstalling Firefox?

Assuming that you are running Windows OS have you tried right-clicking on the Firefox tab in your task bar then clicking on either Maximise or Restore?

I am planning to go somewhere a little darker than Kalathas (quite a lot of light pollution from this horrible bunch of new houses on the way up to Horafakia). Probably Tavri or Niato plateau above Askyfou. I have never tried long time exposure of stars, probably because until recently I didn't have...

Good of you to remind those who don't know or might have forgotten.

Going to good place to watch it is almost an annual ritual for me.
So where will you go to watch them?

Thanks Carol.
So if I wanted my car to be 'legal' I could go to the IKTEO in Mournies for a 'pre-check certificate' and that would cover me until my car is called (in a few years time by the looks of it as it is 'only' 10 years old). Is this correct? And any idea how much that pre-check costs?

jeansy, you write about KTEO workshops springing up and having a waiting list of 2 years. So do you mean the official ones? Have they just just 'sprung up'? It seems to me that KTEO has been around a good few years now. Caroline mentions a private one in Mournies. This is confusing. Would someone ca...

you don't take them daily do you, just post daily. I take photos most days so the stuff I post is generally current but not necessarily taken on the day that it is posted. East Crete / West Crete ... won't get into that either but the West is where I live so this is where I tend to do my photography.

the private one at Mournies So that's a private one??? Every time I pass it I think that one day I should get an MOT for my 10 years old car but I didn't know it was private. So how does that work? They take your money and give you the paper regardless of the condition of the car? I am interested n...

Are we to surmise by your posting that this unfortunate couple may have chosen to 'do their own thing' Definitely so. It's not something I have been told but it's the only logical explanation if they were indeed found in Tripiti As to why they went there...maybe they were completely stupid (I have ...

It is not really possible to go from Samaria to Tripiti. At least not by accident. Two obvious routes come to mind: the 'easy' one would entail turning right as you reach the bottom of the gorge (a little under 3km from the start) and ascending to Linoseli and the Gingilos saddle. This is an ascent ...

By the way your URL only works if you are a premier customer

So I am a premier customer? That makes me feel a lot better.
And this is another good reason for filipos to buy a 30" Dell monitor. He'll be a premier customer as well :-)

Why only 26" You'd live to regret not going for a 30".

Dell has a pretty affordable model - see http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/pr ... &sku=88765 (sorry about the long URL)
