Doctors Kalives / Vamos?

Postby Carolina » Fri Mar 17, 2017 2:29 pm

I understand Dr Elizabeth in Vamos has retired?

Can anyone recommend an English speaking family doctor (oikogeniako giatro) or pathologos in the Kalives - Vamos area please. Must speak English as it is for tourists.

Also is there an English speaking ENT specialist in the area?

Thanks in advance.

Kalyves Medical Care
Ioannis M Lampousakis and Emmanouil S. Spetsotakis
Agios Antonios, 539 Kalyves (Opposite the EKO petrol station on Armenoi Road)
Tel: 28250 33000 Fax: 28250 33001 Mob: 6975 519599
info@kalyvesmedicalcare.gr

We've been going to them for a couple of years (or more - time flies)
Dr. Lampousakis lists himself as GP/Family doctor and offers Medical Acupuncture
Dr. Spetsotakis GP/Family Doctor.
Both they and their receptionist speak excellent English
We've only consulted with Dr. Spetsotakis and think he's excellent. People we know speak highly of Dr. L, too.

I've lost my notes of their opening hours but they're certainly open every weekday and offer a 24hrs on call service during the summer (or have done for the last two).

The wife of one of them has a paediatric practice more or less opposite their office.

Carol, could I draw your attention to a brilliant web site called "Living in Crete". Both the doctors mentioned by Filippos are listed on the Health/Doctors, Dentists & Vets in Crete section.*

I don't know an ENT specialist in the Kalyves/Vamos area but Dr Lambrinakis in Chania is very good. Tzanakaki Street 17 on the first floor. That's the street going up past the tax office and Cosmote. 17 is on the left hand side a bit further up. Speaks good English and very reasonable rates.

You've probably caught me out too, Warwick. I'm not 100% sure but with your reminder I think it might have been me that passed on the info previously. If it wasn't me I apologise to whoever did for claiming credit due to them. Unfortunately, either way it's another pointer in the direction of failing memory.

Unbelievable! I made the comment in the driving licence thread about your memory possibly being worse than you think BEFORE reading this post.

PS I accidentally found the names listed on the main site when I was looking to see if there was an ENT specialist listed on there.

Are you becoming psychic or have you always been so? On the m/c thing, I know I've never taken a bike test nor had any desire to do so.

I don't think so. I struggle to understand the present so I doubt if I can see into the future. I used to be a physicist, does that count? I'm easily confused.

Filippos, do you know how much they charge for a consultation?

Thanks,
