Missed it. I was ½ way through a taverna meal when it was pointed out and anyway didn't have the right camera/lens with me; only a 'superwide-angle' that would have rendered the moon as a pinhead.

What a pity! We were able to take some reasonable photos using our iPhone mounted onto our spotting scope but I have seen better on the internet as we were not able to get the warm orange of the moon that night.

For those interested in Astronomy the Perseid meteor shower should peak tonight and into the early hours of Sunday morning. Each meteor may appear anywhere in the sky but they are named after the constellation Perseus because if you drew each meteor track on a sky map they would appear to radiate from that constellation. There will also be some sporadic meteors that won't appear to radiate from Perseus. Perhaps not that easy to see this year because the moon is quite bright.

Should still be some tonight and possibly for a couple of days. Last night was supposed to be the peak so there will be fewer now.
