Let’s do it Greece!
This April 29 is not a simple Sunday! It is a day devoted to the love of volunteering and the environment.
With the main slogan "Become the Change You Want", volunteers from all over Greece will be co-ordinated at Let's do it Greece 2018, the biggest simultaneous Environmental Action of the country.
Volunteer groups, environmental organizations, clubs, municipalities, regions, institutions and citizens are joining together to care and shape squares, parks, neighbourhoods, rivers, beaches, lakes, seas, mountains, forests, while students will take care of their school environment from a week full of Volunteerism, with a peak on Sunday April 29!
After last year's success with the participation of 1% of the Greek population, this year's goal is to involve over 150,000 volunteers with over 2,000 actions across the country! This year's theme is "Volunteering and Youth", with students, students and young people in our country playing a leading role.
IF YOU ONLY DO ONE THING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT THIS YEAR, LET IT BE THIS!!
The local APOKORONAS activity is a joint venture by the Municipality of Apokoronas and The Apokoronas Environment Group.
WHAT? The plan is to clean up the tracks/footpaths that form the routes for the Koiliaris Run in time for this year’s run in June..
WHEN? Sunday 29th April 2018, starting at 10am.
WHERE? The meeting point for all volunteers is the Plateia (Square) in Neo Horio
HOW? The organisers will divide the volunteers into 3 groups. One will stay in Neo Horio, one will go to Stylos and the 3rd group will go to Armenoi.
WHAT DO WE NEED? The municipality will provide plastic refuse sacks and gloves. Take a good supply of water and perhaps a fruit bar or something similar with you.
Please do what you can to support this event. Every little helps! Thank you.
Bob Scott - on behalf of the Apokoronas Environment Group.
PS. For the many readers of this forum who do not live in or near the Apokoronas region, please keep an eye open for activity in your areas and do your best to take part. Thanks.
Yesterday today was tomorrow. Don't dilly dally!
