Postby Carolina » Fri Jul 15, 2016 10:27 pm

LowCostHolidays go bust. "A number of factors contributed to the group’s demise, including the EU referendum, which led some customers to delay holiday decisions. “The group experienced significant market headwinds in the run-up to the EU referendum as holidaymakers delayed decisions,” he said. “This was compounded by the leave vote itself and the subsequent fall in value of the pound.."

The second link gives a 404 error for me, Carol.

Assuming the name of the company relates to the sort of holidays they were selling, I would think a significant proportion of the customers currently on holiday will not be able to afford the payments that may be demanded before they can leave their hotels?

I've changed the second link - it should work now?

Low cost Holidays also owned Low Cost Beds which was a bed bank used by many travel agents, so the problem is widespread. Yes some people will find they have to pay again for their hotel rooms & anyone who is booked but not yet travelled should check with the hotel and airline (some flight tickets may have been paid upfront but doubtful that the rooms are paid upfront).
