TEA

Postby Jeffstclair » Tue Feb 14, 2017 1:42 pm

I’m a big tea drinker and always drink tea as I work. When I lived in the UK we always used to have Yorkshire tea in the theatre workshop, and when I came here to Greece to work on my house I would bring Yorkshire teabags with me. But then I discovered Yellow Canary tea, which you can buy cheaply in most Cretan supermarkets and grocers. It’s unbroken orange pekoe, so you have to make it in a pot - but it’s well worth it. And now when I go back to the UK I usually take a packet of Canary tea with me....jeff

Interesting - will give it a try if I see it.
ALWAYS make tea in a pot, even if it is teabags - tastes much better than making it in the cup.

Hi Jeff

As a Yorkshire tea fan who is currently running out, I was interested in your post.
I live on the east of the island, and have tried numerous stores, including Halkadakis, Ariadne & AB. Not a sniff of it anywhere
Any suggestions please

Nigel

Cheers Jeff, might have a ride down to Ierepatra, but will certainly try the mini markets first

If you haven't already found 'Yellow Canary' in Kalyves they stock it in 1000+1, opposite Piraeus Bank.

Thanks for that Filippos, go in there regularly but never noticed it before.
Will try it for my morning cuppa, not expensive either - €1 for 100gm packet.
