Pesty

Postby Charliesangel » Tue May 16, 2017 1:20 pm

Hi, got chatted up by a pesty silverhaired, slim, tanned, northern accent and definitely married guy, in local supermarket in Alikianos, asking for my email address with a view to lunching in Chania. If anyone knows of such man, please tell him to sod off...!

That definitely lets me off the hook. You should have asked Nick or Maria for his name. Rough guess as to age?

You should have said in your first post that it was a young lad. Nobody I know in the area fits the description. The majority are 70 +, very few could realistically be described as slim and several are completely bald.

As it was the first time I'd seen this man In the supermarket, I gathered he didn't live locally.

I sort of fit the description, BUT I don't count myself as slim :( and I can't remember the last time I was in the supermarket in Alikianos, having said that I should go in more often, best pork chops cut to how you like :D

When was this? The description and tragic behaviour match our neighbour, but he hasn't been here for a month or so. He particularly likes chatting up young girls in front of his wife and that ain't the half of it! An utter turd, imo.

Scooby, if you havent been to Alikianos supermarket in a long time, then it was not you! Rather brave of you to say you sort of match the description!

Why don't you self teach from the old interweb? Depends if how much you know about cooking I suppose and what style of cooking.

The lady who owns Eanthia Village Beach Resort in Gerani used to do lessons in traditional Greek cookery. I don't know if she still does. Drive along the old National road through Platanias to Gerani. Immediately after the turn for the New National road a road forks off to the right. Follow this for a few km. You will pass two tavernas close together, Little Paradise and Bossa Nova. Eanthia Village is on the right a few hundred metres after Bossa Nova.

As an aside, Bossa Nova does excellent barbecued pork ribs and sells a very wide range of foreign beers, e.g. UK, French, Belgian, Dutch, Danish.

Thanks Warwick...I have been to Eanthia village, and love the food there, but didn't know about cookery lessons, so I will ask. I have not had the chance to sample Bossa Nova, but must admit, have had a cocktail or two, at nearby Tequila Bar!
