According to the article I read, Bob, all European countries have to do it, or none.

Yes Tim, I missed that article, although my reading suggested it might be left to individual countries (chaos!). As to a vote (next post by Kamisiana) we lost the right to vote in the UK after 15 years of living here, despite paying plenty of money to HMRC each month! Not likely to get a vote on that subject here either - just in local elections; although that too might change post-Brexit! Who knows? Bob.

You can vote in elections for the European Parliament as well as local elections so I would imagine that you could vote in an EU consultation as well provided, of course, that you become aware of it during the consultation period.

Most people want to sleep when it is dark and make the maximum use of daylight, however long that is. You cannot "save" daylight only make maximum use of it. I would argue that you achieve that if clock noon is set two or three hours after solar noon, e.g. double summer time, permanently.

Interesting article and if you scrole down and get to poll participants you can see who voted for what
Greece and Cyprus split over summer or winter times
and there is no suprise what country got the biggest say again.

Interesting but to my mind a totally useless and misleading graph Kamisiana. Especially when looking at the percentage of populations who voted to get rid of daylight saving time and then compare that with the percentage of the population actually polled. 'Lies, damned lies and statistics' comes to mind! Bob.
