Fantasy Premier League

Postby Philb » Fri Jul 26, 2019 10:27 am

Maybe some people on this forum already play Fantasy Premier League or others may be interested to do so?

It's free to join and create a team at:

https://fantasy.premierleague.com

I have created a league, unimaginatively called 'Crete Super League' and the entry code to enter your team in this league is gl7201

Please feel free to sign up to this league for a bit of free and fun competition over the season.

I won't go into the details and rules of FPL here but am happy to answer questions. The sign up and team creation and selection is pretty straight forward.

Will do :)

I have a team, Dross Utd, in a league involving some UK friends. What's your team called, as I might see you in the Greek standings.

Might call the new team Dross 2nd XI

eta: eek - can I actually have 2 teams in different leagues? Suspect not.

Yes Glenn, you can enter the same team in multiple leagues. My team is called Kalamitsi Alexandrou. Welcome to the Crete Superleague.

Thanks Phil. Full disclosure: I wrote a weekly column on English football for a Kenyan newspaper for eight years as a hobby. But i’m not that good - usually around 2.000 in Greece

My son ran a competition to predict match results in Euro 2016. About 30 people took part, many of them life long supporters of major premiership teams, one an ex-professional footballer and one who bets on match results almost everyday. The person who came second, only 2 points behind the winner, was 10 years old.

Choice of captains made a big difference this week. You had Sterling (40 pts), Good pick. I had Mane who only started on the bench and played 16 mins, I didn't take into account he joined pre-season late because of international duty. Still, 37 gameweeks to go. Geoff Mitchell is the one to watch, he had a slow start but his past form is awesome. Why did I swap out McGinn and Van Dijk on Friday? Annoying game.
