The 2020 Ig Nobles

Postby Kilkis » Fri Sep 18, 2020 2:02 pm

The 2020 Ig Noble prize for Medical Education has been awarded jointly to Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil, Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom, Narendra Modi of India, Andrés Manuel López Obrador of Mexico, Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, Donald Trump of the USA, Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, Vladimir Putin of Russia, and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan, for using the Covid-19 viral pandemic to teach the world that politicians can have a more immediate effect on life and death than scientists and doctors can.

Good to know that Johnson is in such good company.

Nice one Warwick..Who awards the Ig Nobles...and is it possible to make a donation? May be we should start a crowdfunding project and get Elon Musk to send them to the moon ....

No. Not 1st April. The Ig Nobels are awarded every year. Improbable Research award them. There is a donate button but I don't think you can specify what the donation is used for. One nice touch is that they try to get real Nobel prize winners to present the prizes each year. This year there were six.
