Ode to Joy

Postby Kookla » Thu Jun 17, 2021 11:34 am

Well I have just learnt something new and I think it is wonderful. On our new Biometric Residence Permits if you look on the front side at the bottom where it says Hellenic Residence Permit and where your signature is you will see music notes rising from a treble clef. You might have to angle your card to see them.

It is the Anthem of Europe. I wish it played as I rotate my card.

I love it, very creative of card designers I think. I will be hard pressed not to hum or whistle when stood in the queue at my next Border Control at an airport. Wouldn’t it be grand if we all broke out in song while queuing haha.
As an aside, I did register my permit as my ID at my bank the other day. I prefer to use this as it fits in my purse, rather than take my passport each time. (I had read chatter somewhere on here about this a while ago.)

What an offensively rude comment, but it is nice to see the simple things amuse some of the Remaintards.

Incredible. I had honestly not realised that there are still folk walking amongst us that think Brexit a good thing.

If anybody has access to BBC Sounds it is worth listening to Dead Ringers from Friday 11 June. There is a nice impersonation of Liz Truss outlining all her amazing trade deals.

Altohb, what a small minded, pathetic idiot you portray yourself as.
Don't embarrass yourself further with your ignorance.

You may want to take a hard look at your self.

For once I agree with you Kamisiana, although I am not into waving any sort of flag or humming any tunes. For me personally Brexit is History. The citizens of northern Ireland probably have a different view, however, and that might become a bit of a problem for the UK in the future. Take away a man's sausage and there is no telling what he might do?

For once, I disagree with you Warwick - I think the ramifications of Brexit will be with us for a long time, not the least for NI.

History, if it is allowed to be written in truth, will show it for what it was.

I am certain you are correct, Phil, but I doubt if it will impact me personally, which, if you look at my post, is what I was saying. I have a simple philosophy in life: I control what I can and what I can't control I deal with. I am not saying Bexit is history I am saying that for me Brexit is history.
