Last Day!

I was just coming on here to let everyone know that the wonderful Paul (Greek Island Removlas/PMS Logistics) collected all our stuff (and managed to fit it all in the van - I have a photo to prove it) and is now on the road! He'll arrive early Sunday morning!
All we have to do today is finish packing our cases, clean the flat then go to the pub!!
All going well tomorrow, we will arrive in Heraklion at 6.50pm!
No idea when I'll get back online but we're ready for GMT and lots of queuing for things!!!!

Hi Lynn, just wanted to wish you all the best with your move. We have been watching your "countdown" with great interest as we will be making "THE MOVE" in 2011 from Canada to Latsida. So we have started our own countdown and it seems to be a long way a way but time has a way of speeding up as one gets closer to ones goal. I am quitting work at the end of this year to concentrate on organising everything to avoid panicking at the end! 
Moving our precious stuff, that we cannot live without, requires even more organisation than at your end as we are swopping continents. However we have picked up more than a few hints from this forum and will continue to monitor this site and to ask all sorts of questions. Once again Good Luck and give our best to that part of Crete (Our new home is not too far from Malia)

Thanks all!!
In an internet cafe at the moment but have been to OTE today (thanks Jim & Meg) and should have phone and internet all up and running by next Wednesday!
We've had fun and games so far:
Apartment we were to move into was taken by the owner's son so we had to look at apartments on the Saturday as our belongings were arriving on the Sunday at 9am! We managed to find a really nice brand new apartment which is very close to everything!!
Contract signed on the Sunday at midnight!
AFM on the Monday so that we could give the number to landlord! That was fairly uneventful - we do need to go back with a copy of our marriage certificate in Greek!
DEH was on Tuesday to get power in the apartment - we then discovered that the meter had already been connected but the switch had to be 'hit'!
The only thing left to do is Health Book and E106 to Heraklion when they eventually arrive from the UK!
