A bit different today, Filippos. Today they would be firing air-guns, throwing bricks at the fire tenders and trying to urinate on the firemen from the top of a tall building BUT they wouldn't be getting excited. All done in a very matter of fact way.

Unfortunately, it's true. My brother-in-law has just retired from the fire brigade, age 50, and couldn't wait to get away from it all. The kids think it hugely funny to throw bricks at firemen trying to save lives.

According to the number of hits per second on the UK's Swineflu site everybody in England should have been suffering from the flu in 7 hours

We were given some excellent advice by a local in Kalyves today:

"Drink raki - no swine flu".

'im indoors intends to follow this advice.

Im indoors must be prescient, Maggie. To the best of my knowledge he's been following this advice for many years before swine flu ever appeared or does this mean he needs to up the dose?

Despite the reports, many of us in UK have not yet surrendered to the virus, despite living in so called 'hot spots'.

There are reports that 'Tamiflu' is now being sold at stalls on car boot sales since the help desks have been set up. The hysteria whipped up here by this Government and press in UK has not helped matters in my opinion.

I'm surprised they can afford it when they can't afford to pay the farmers a few cents more. It will kill a few people. I'm not keen on unnecessary innoculations; some people are allergic to the preservatives; some have a bad reaction to the killed virus. I suspect there are vested interests here. Which politicians have shares in the drug companies?

I called the Swine flu hot line today, but all I got was crackling

I heard that one of the symptoms is that you come out in rashers.

Another symptom is that you get the trotts.

The wife woke up this morning with pigtails in her hair, should she be worried !!.

The doctor asked me how long I'd felt this way, I said about a weeeeeeeek.

My mate rang in to say he had Swine flu, but I think he's telling porkies.

Swine flu is no problem to pigs, they are going to get cured anyway.

As I'm coming to Crete in September, I'll avoid the inoculation programme here in the UK. If the Greek authorities offer it to me, I'll tell them I already had it in the UK, thanks anyway.
