Having guessed, correctly, that our favourite seaside taverna would be heaving today with city folk and Αθηναιοι, we passed on the grilled-sardines and came home from the beach to one we’d made earlier, just right for a heatwave. Chicken korma, dhal and mix veg curry. With a sambal of hot pickled Greek peppers to make your eyes water. And lots of καρπουζι for afters.
