It really would be hot if we were using the Fahrenheit scale...125.6 degrees

How do you know it is 52 C in your garden? Do you have one of those thermometers that reads the outside temperature on a display inside the house? Surely you haven't been outside have you? Personally I haven't been outside during the hours of daylight for about five weeks and don't expect to for about another five weeks. Thank god for air conditioning, the Ashes and the Tour de France.

Four o'clock this morning at a music night near the beach it was so cool I almost went home [60m away] to fetch a sweater. 'Er Indoors DID go home to fetch a wrap .......... before midnight.

PS .... [60m away] ..... that's metres not miles.

Having guessed, correctly, that our favourite seaside taverna would be heaving today with city folk and Αθηναιοι, we passed on the grilled-sardines and came home from the beach to one we’d made earlier, just right for a heatwave. Chicken korma, dhal and mix veg curry. With a sambal of hot pickled Greek peppers to make your eyes water. And lots of καρπουζι for afters.
Yours glowing nicely

It was very cool last night after a scorching day. Yesterday's news showed the temperature for Crete with a low of 21oC at night to 40oC in the day. That's a huge difference - almost 20oC.
