It's nice when you are looking at it all up there from down here. I wouldn't want to be up amongst it.

Christmas greetings to all forum members and all those who lurk in the shadows. I hope 2017 is a good year for everybody.

And thanks to Carol for keeping this place going (and well moderated) for yet another year!

All the best to everyone.

Happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year to everyone. Looks like the new year will be a snowy one. (How 'low' does the snow reach?)

Sometimes right down to the coast but not every year and it doesn't usually hang around for very long at that altitude. There has been a bit of sleet/hail just inland from Chania yesterday and today.

In 2004 there was a bit of snow in the air around Chrisi Akti in November but it wasn't laying and In January 2005 there was more snow on the white mountains than on the mountains between Greece and Bulgaria.

Next week doesn't look too bad with the temperature getting back up to around 14 C. I don't think you can really predict beyond that with any reliability.

Καλή Χρονιά. Warwick
