Weathering the Winter

Since it’s been barely mentioned here, (my excuse is that one has been too busy sorting out dodgy central heating, getting more oil in, unplugging everything because of the lightning, trying to find the gas lamp for the lengthy power cuts, etc etc, to post on forums…) I thought non-residents might be interested to know that Crete been having some seriously wintry weather this past week or so.

In the past Some People living down on the sunny lowlands, where they wear tee-shirts the year round and hardly ever put on the heating, have suggested that those of us up in the hills have made an awful lot of fuss about a little cold snap.

There has been a bit of sleet/hail just inland from Chania yesterday and today.
admitted Warwick a couple of days ago. A bit, I thought, as another blizzard dumped another load of snow on top of roads already littered with fallen rocks from the previous gale.

Anyway, this time you don’t have to take my word for it, Apokoroniots.
