To be fair (!) Andrew, if you are told publicly as a group (not just UK, but all immigrants in this area) that your views are wanted and appreciated, then you pass them on. I can well imagine some local authorities in the UK seeking the views of EU migrants (Poles spring to mind) if only to seek to gather their votes! That certainly happens here at election time! But the mantra 'we need you to show us how to do some things' isn't just at election time. It's ongoing. Never mind - slowly, slowly. Bob.

I agree with Bob. I gave the mayor an idea (with sketches) regarding waste collection. His eyes lit up; he seemed very enthusiastic. But nothing was changed. And, yes, I did explain in reasonable Greek so there was no misunderstanding.
