Carnival time

Postby Sallyb » Sun Oct 14, 2018 1:06 pm

We are planning to visit in February next year. Which week would be best to experience the carnival in Rethymnon?

The big Rethymnon carnival parade is on Sunday 10th March in 2019. Sorry to say you will miss it in February.

There are other events in the week or so prior to the major carnival parade.

I realise that Fillipos, but the highlight is the parade, now one of the biggest in Greece. I may well be out for all of the celebrations for the last time this year myself!

Sorry, Kathleen, re-reading my earlier response it was a bit poorly phrased. I didn't intend to imply any lack of your local knowledge; it was intended only as additional info for the original poster.
