The 4th of October is World Animal Day.

The 4 October was originally chosen for World Animal Day because it is the feast day of Francis of Assisi, a nature lover and patron saint of animals and the environment.

One of the problems with all of this election stuff is that legislation about to go through has been put on the back burner. Just when I wanted to make use of the car scrappage scheme which was within an ace of being passed!
