Reading the following on the main page of their web site makes me think that you should take what they say with a big pinch of salt:
Property value on Crete are currently growing at a rate of 20%-25% annually.
Crete's cost of living is one of the lowest in Europe but the quality of life is the highest.
Basics such as food, property, cars, petrol, clothes etc are a fraction of the cost of Northern European prices.
All health care and social benefits are the same as the rest of the EEC.
The diet in Crete is mostly of organic produce.
The average longevity of life is the highest in Europe.
