URGENT accommodation from Saturday 1st September 2012

OK guys and gals

Desperately need some recommendations for accommodation.

Details are:
2 double bed apartments (4 people)
9 nights from Saturday 1st September to Monday 10th September
Close to beach (due to disabled wife)
Close to tavernas (not too noisy)
Would prefer pool, but not necessary

Don’t really mind what part of the island (have always stayed in the north, but am prepared to go anywhere if the accommodation is right), but would hope that some of you would know about ‘somewhere special’.

Reason for all this is that the apartments that we had our booking with (from February) have just told us that the rooms we requested (very specific) are not available!

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Please email me. My Greek friend has Studios a 2-3 minute walk from the beach. A Taverna 30 second walk away, plus plenty more.

sorry to hear your booking's fallen through.

If you like traditional then you could try Maria at Konaki Appartments in Panormos. We stayed there with friends a few years ago (while our apartments were being finished). We were lucky to get 2 large ground floor studios in the corner that shared a private patio area. If they're free they might suit you very well.

It's only a few minutes to either of the village beaches and there are plenty of taverna's close by as well as supermarkets, baker etc.

Maria is lovely & we try to visit her every time we're in Crete, plus she serves the cheapest beer in the village!!!
