Hi Warwick

Is that excluding any service charges? I get billed in Sitia every quarter but it's always between 18 and 20 Euros and I'm only resident 3 weeks of the year.

(Or is my neighbour tapping my supply to top up his swimming pool?!)

It's considerably more expensive in Rethymno. Our last bill (20/9/12 to 8/2/13 - say 4.5 months) was for €64.50. Of this, €23.22 was for water usage (43 m3 @ 0.54 per m3), €31.20 was for "fixed water supply" and the balance VAT.

For a single quarter's bill, it seems unlikely that we would get either the water usage or the fixed charge down to anywhere near €8.

I suspect that we Rethymniotes are still paying handsomely for the new(ish) Amari dam.

The main bill was:

23 cum at €0.17 /cum = €3.91 + 13 % VAT = €4.42
Fixed Charge = €2.93 + 23 % VAT = €3.60

There were also two small corrections.

Rounding Previous = -€0.12 and
Rounding Current = +€0.10

Mine came out at 37 Euros for the 1/4 and that`s in Chania.

Ok the water usage was only 6.15 the rest for fixed water supply, vat etc.

Still cheaper than the UK.
