petrol stations near Heraklion airport

Postby annabanana » Mon Mar 31, 2014 2:53 pm

Hi we are picking up a hire car at 10.30pm on Wed evening and wondered if there is a petrol station open near the airport or along the national road going east.
A big thank you

yes there is a large roadside station about 20 mins from the airport on your side of the road as you travel East.

Are you talking about shell garage on right side of the road?
Thank you very much

Or, if you turn left out of the car hire compound and head past the Air Force base into Heraklion, there's a BP petrol station about 700 meters down the road which is open 24 hours a day - the Shell on the National Road closes at night, usually around midnight, but I've seen it closed earlier.

Agree with Tim, go left at the new mini roundabout at car hire/park, follow the road round to the left, petrol station is on the right, much safer than hoping the one on the national road is open at that time.

I have used the one on the right - national road at all times - but Tim seems more of a dead cert.
