Reliable Car Mechanic/Garage.

Does anyone know of a good, reliable Car Mechanic in the Agios Nicholaos area - East side preferably. Obviously prefer a recommendation from personal experience of having good service.

I can highly recommend Kontaxakis, ask for either Manolis (father) or Dimitri (his son) At traffic lights coming from Heraklion (where you turn right to Sitea) go straight across and they are on the left at the first (new) roundabout.

I recently had a flat battery in Agios, phoned them and Dimitri came out to rescue me. When he arrived the car started ok! "How much do I owe you" I asked. "Nothing, I did not do anything" was his reply,

They used to be a Citroen main dealer but now service/repair all makes.

Or possibly closer for you, Loretta .. try Giannis, at the back of the big new Eko garage on the Piskokefalo road (about 500 metres towards Pisko after the Sitiea traffic lights.)

OK Mixos.... tried him he is Ok has done work before for me but this problem has baffled him. I am after another opinion on the matter. Which is ..... Jeep : engine cuts out when I stop at junctions or meet a steep hill. ???? On main drag at speed, no problems.

Next to the other EKO garage in Sitia is a car showroom / mechanic that used to be a Suzuki dealer,have you tried there?

Yes Peebee, apparently it is more common a fault than I thought and often a cure is not found for some reason.

Going from Sitia to Piskokefalo after the Shell garage there is an EKO garage - next to that a motorcyc le repair place and next to that, set back a bit is the showroom / workshop. Just about opposite the school

Diesel or Petrol? If petrol, fuel injection or carburettor? Been checked on diagnostic computer (dodgy sensor)?

Have you had the electrics checked? I had rodents attack the wiring loom on my Vitara on three occasions causing varying amounts of damage. Check under the bonnet for droppings etc.
