Anyone had to visit the T.A.O (Parcel collection) in Souda? Have to go there next week but google maps have blurred out most of Souda, so difficult to see any route.

If you know the address you could try Google Earth rather than Google Maps. At bottom left of Google Earth there is a little icon with 2003 next to it. If you click on that a slider bar appears at top left. Slide that along until the caption reads 7/28/2016 or 4/16/2017 and you get a non-pixelated view of Souda. Now put the address into the search bar and it should put a red marker on the map.

Ok, will give it a try. Failing this, I’ll phone them when I am in Souda to get better directions, although this could see me ending up in Heraklion.

I think you can find them on this page. Scroll down to the map and then use the +/- buttons to zoom in. It looks like you go out of the centre of Souda past the Souda Cemetery to the road on the north side of the National Highway. Turn left and head east next to the National Highway. After a while the road swings to the left, possibly turning into a track. Follow it round and then turn off to the right. By looking at the map on the web page and the same area on Google Earth, adjusted for date as above, I am guessing it is the building at 35°28' 58.84" N 24° 4' 32.22" E. I could be wrong as I don't actually know the company. If they have put the marker in the wrong place on their own map then I have no idea.

Thanks Warwick, this helps and I hope also that they have put the red marker in the correct place. Looking at the area, I could easily get lost, maybe the mobile reception could also be weak. I’d better be prepared and take plenty of water, sandwiches, dry biscuits, a razor, a chalk board to mark away the days, possibly years, matches for a potential fire (not to be lit until the end of October, or when it starts to rain) oh and a flare gun, obviously aiming north towards the sea.

google maps have blurred out most of Souda

Seems strange. My Google maps shows Souda normally apart from military installations

If you type in Warwicks co-ordinates into google maps, the area is blurred in satellite view.

I see what you mean. Yes they certainly overdid the blur!

The municipal gardens and surrounding area in Chania are also blurred, I don’t know why.

As I put in my earlier post try altering the date of the image. You will find some that are not pixelated.

After driving all over Souda, I found it. Here are the co-ordinates on google maps if anyone has to use them - (35.4799885, 24.0617209) Obviously nowhere near their websites red marker, they are about 500m from Supercars, on the same road.
